Ray Andrews is one of Australia’s leading naturalists, who has combed the Island Continent in search of the weird, wonderful, beautiful and interesting natural wonders that make Australia so unique. Ray is a native of Tropical Australia and has been working in the travel industry for 10 years, bringing to life the exciting natural history, which abounds in Australia. He first made his name working for conservation agencies and the National Parks service by planting well over 100, 000 trees personally, and enriching the environment of this the most ancient of lands. Since then, Ray has turned his hand to educating and inspiring the experience of travellers in his role as a professional tour guide.

Ray’s previous position has been as resident naturalist at Lotus Bird lodge, Pajinka Wilderness Lodge and Jowalbinna Bush Camp and today he is located in Sydney running natural history tours Australia wide. Ray is committed to offering quality and unique travel experiences off the beaten track with a real sense of a wilderness adventure in a safe and luxurious environment. Many of you may have seen Ray on television working with the likes of Steve Irwin or on Travel specials worldwide and he delights in showcasing the wilds of Australia.

His main interest is the evolution of Australian plants and animals with an emphasis on human adaptation from the first Aboriginals to the present cosmopolitan peoples. His work with indigenous Australians with their culture and art has seen him advise on the conservation of culturally significant sites and the development of initiatives to involve these first Australians in the management of these areas.
