Monster King George whiting are what draws adventurous anglers to both islands, but there are dozens of other inshore and deep reef varieties of fish available as well. Snapper, giant blue groper, samson fish, yellowtail kings and tuna are on tap according to season for deep water enthusiasts, while the whiting (averaging 55cm!), big Australian salmon and monster flathead abound inshore. It's essentially a 'best of both worlds' situation that caters for most angling tastes and aspirations. And if one of your angling dreams is to crack the magic one kilogram mark on King George whiting, there are few places in the country where that ambition is more likely to be fulfilled than around Flinders and Pearson. r /> Flinders Island Beach House Fishing these islands between late January and May are regarded as the best time to capitalise on South Australia's predictable and generally stable autumn weather.
As far as sport fishing is concerned, ‘Island Lure’ the charter vessel at your disposal during your fishing safari is as well set up as any charter vessel in the country, providing the ultimate combination of comfort and no nonsense ‘fishability’. Skipper, Gavin Solly, is a super experienced expert guide and you can be assured you’re in good hands.
