The magnificent south coast and Albany seduce visitors with life's simple pleasures - tranquillity, pristine beaches and countryside, breathtaking seascapes, great food and wine and a slow and easy lifestyle whispering for us to relax, unwind and enjoy.
Welcome to Maitraya.

Located on 130 hectares of grounds by the Southern Ocean, Maitraya enjoys amazing views of the adjacent coast, islands and mountains. It is truly a very special place. Featuring ample accommodation for up to 16 guests, the residence provides the ultimate getaway for leisure seekers or corporate gatherings in a totally private retreat set in one of the most beautiful locations in Australia.

In a hustle and bustle world, this special place maintains its magical appeal and gentle life rhythms. Visitors soon fall under the spell! Fresh air, clean seas, unspoiled country, fruitful earth, friendly people and a profound spirit of place have been priceless qualities here for millennia.

Maitraya is a place for all seasons: be it autumn dawn walks along the coast; cosy winter nights spent with good friends around a roaring fire; spring picnics on the coastal heath, ablaze with wildflowers; or summer days lazing on your own private beach by a sparkling sea.

Activities such as fishing, surfing, kite and wind surfing, diving, walk trails, Food and Wine and eco tours are available locally. In the winter and spring months the region's protected coastal waters attract pods of Southern Right, Sperm, Humpback and endangered Blue Whales. These can be seen from the Maitraya property.

The property itself also offers a myriad of native botanical, animal and ornithological attractions. Indeed it is home to the extremely rare noisy scrub-bird, for many years thought to be extinct. For food and wine lovers the area offers a wide variety of attractions and places to visit including some of the finest wineries and restaurants in Western Australia.

The Great Southern region covers 40,000 square kilometeres featuring some of the most rugged and beautiful scenery of Australia.
It offers a wide variety of attractions and we would recommend guests take time for visiting some of the excellent wineries and restaurants in and around neighbouring Albany, Denmark and Mt Barker, the historic Whale World exhibition, and the excellent eco tour of the estuary out of Walpole.

Whales in whale watching season (around August-September) are almost a guaranteed sight from the balcony of the house. For art lovers there are a number of excellent galleries exhibiting local artists.

In the grounds there is a tennis court, cricket net, small cricket and football ground, sporting equipment including boards and windsurfers, access to a safe swimming lagoon and local surfing beach, a sealed 900m private airstrip and helicopter pad.
To relax and kick back there is an indoor heated pool, spa, sauna and large central glass-roofed atrium.
