Opening October 2009, Emirates' Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa is a luxury conservation-based resort located in Australia's Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage area, less than three hours drive from Sydney. Modelled on the acclaimed Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai, the resort is set within its own private conservation and wildlife reserve where guests can enjoy absolute luxury, tranquility and connection with nature.

Nestled between two National Parks and spread out at the foot of towering sandstone cliffs, the homestead-style resort occupies just two percent of the total land area of 4,000 acres.

Sustainability is an integral part of the Wolgan Valley development. Therefore environmentally sustainable practices such as rainwater collection, water recycling, the use of solar power and energy efficient and recycled materials are incorporated in the framework of a green architecture that ensures the resort is sitting lightly within its environs.

Accommodation

The resort consists of a homestead-style main building incorporating a guest dining room and country kitchen, bar and conference facilities, a separate gym/sauna/steam room complex and stand alone Timeless Spa with six treatment rooms.

Accommodation is in 40 free standing suites - 36x one bedroom, 3x two bedroom and 1x two bedroom suite with staff quarters - all with separate living and bedroom areas, verandah and sun deck and private swimming pool.

Activities

A number of nature based activities will be available for guests including guided four wheel drives, guided Aboriginal interpretive tours, nature walks, wildlife spotting and horse riding.
