A 10 day journey from the Red Centre of Australia to Tropical North Queensland

Begin with two nights at the Park Hyatt Sydney and discover the best features of this fantastic city accompanied by your private guide who will use their local knowledge and insight to provide a highly personal and exceptionally individual day to remember.

Two nights at Longitude 131 in the heart of the Red Centre allows you the chance to experience the stunning & iconic natural splendor that is Uluru (Ayers Rock). Enjoy touring with your private guide in this region – giving you a more particular understanding to this historic natural wonder.

From the Red Centre continue to Lizard Island for four nights of soft-adventure or pure relaxation nestled right on the footsteps of the Great Barrier Reef.

Lastly spend one night back at the Park Hyatt Sydney to perhaps enjoy a live performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House, or just sit back and reflect on this wide and diverse country.

Day 1 – Day 3 Park Hyatt Sydney, for 2 nights

You then take a walk around the Observatory, continuing around Circular Quay, the Opera House & into the magnificent Botanical Gardens.

Arriving at Watsons Bay on South Head, you will enjoy a meal of Doyle’s famous fish & chips in the park with a bottle of chilled Australian wine and a cheese platter. Returning to the city, visit Darling Harbour where your yacht awaits for a cruise around Sydney Harbour with a delicious afternoon tea. After an incredible 2 hours on the world’s most beautiful harbour, your vessel returns to Darling Harbour. Here you may decide to eat out at any one of the dozen or more restaurants, stay & enjoy the entertainment, or take the monorail into the city, returning to your hotel at your leisure.

Meet your guide and together begin to explore the culture, geology and environment that is Uluru. Witness a spectacular sunrise or sunset over the most profound and culturally significant monolith in Australia. Meander around the rock on either the Base Walk or any number of the short walks into waterholes and art sites, whilst your guide explains Uluru’s cultural significance to the Anangu (local Aboriginal) people. View ceremonial rock art and sacred waterholes where Aboriginal families once came to teach their children the Tjukurpa (Dreaming) stories. Visit the Cultural Centre where details of traditional Aboriginal life are explained and absorb the majesty of this powerful place through the contours of this great natural monument.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is a place where unique flora and fauna thrive. Whilst you make your way to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) your personal local guide will reveal the many attributes of this diverse environment and describe the cultural significance of Kata Tjuta as a sacred Aboriginal men’s ceremonial site. Arriving at Walpa Gorge walk between the mighty conglomerate domes and hear how the 36 domes that make up Kata Tjuta have evolved over millions of years. Take time to listen to the wind (Walpa) far above and view the scale of the rock walls that surround. The spirituality of this amazing location embraces everyone who ventures here.


Day 5 - Day 9 Lizard Island,Tropical North Queensland, for 4 nights

Situated some 240 kilometres north of Cairns, Lizard Island is surrounded by a sea of deep aquamarine and forms part of the Great Barrier Reef near its northernmost end.

The beautiful Lizard Island Resort is balanced high above the Coral Sea and set on the point at Sunset Ridge. The range of spacious open-plan designs are luxuriously appointed, all with spectacular views.

Osprey's Restaurant is an indicator of the importance of cuisine to the Lizard experience. The menu, which changes daily, is fresh and creative, showcasing the finest local produce and freshest seafood.

Finding things to do is no problem on Lizard, with a fully staffed Beach Club and instructors always on hand to offer assistance to beginners and experts alike.

Naturally many of the options on Lizard Island involve the water. Snorkelling equipment and lessons are provided. You can snorkel off a secluded beach to discover a garden of giant clams, many a metre long and some reputed to be 120 years old. Or you can keep your feet dry in catamarans or glass bottom surf skis.

Fishing enthusiasts can charter the 15.5m "Fascination", or dive the famous Cod Hole, where you'll come face to face with the massive, yet curious Potato Cod.

You can play tennis or work out in the gym on your return, or indulgence your senses at the Azure Spa. The spa offers a range of treatments that fuse ancient secrets and essential elements with therapies designed to provide total harmony between health, beauty and nature.
